The Birth of Flintobox Flintobox is an Indian company producing STEAM-based educational activity boxes for children. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics, blending technical disciplines with the arts to promote creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills. Flintobox’s Screen-Free Learning Solution for Young Minds Modern parenting struggles include keeping children away from mobile screens. Parents often rely on videos to keep kids engaged, leading to eye problems and reduced attention spans. The founders, being young parents themselves, saw this as a pressing issue. From a Startup to a Million-Subscriber Brand Determined to create a screen-free learning alternative, they developed activity boxes, tested their products, and invested ₹10 lakhs from personal savings. In September 2013, they officially launched Flintobox, providing hands-on learning experiences for kids. Flintobox offers 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month subscriptions, helping children learn 16 essential skills through age-appropriate activities. With over 1 million subscribers, Bengaluru and Chennai alone contribute more than 30% of the company’s revenue. Flintobox has won several prestigious awards, including the “Coolest Startup of 2014” by Business Today and the “Best Start-Up” award at TiECON Chennai in 2017.
